Privacy Policy
How STL ExtrudeLab handles data when you use the website and app.
1. Overview
STL ExtrudeLab is a free, browser-based tool for extending 3D meshes. It is intentionally built to avoid collecting unnecessary personal data. This page explains what is and is not processed when you visit the website and use the app.
2. No accounts and no uploads
STL ExtrudeLab does not provide user accounts and does not ask for your name, email address, or other contact details. The app processes your 3D models (STL, OBJ, PLY, GLTF/GLB) entirely in your browser:
- Your 3D files are not uploaded to a custom backend server.
- All geometry processing happens locally using WebGL and JavaScript.
- Exports are downloaded directly to your device.
3. Logs and hosting
STL ExtrudeLab and the marketing site are hosted on third‑party infrastructure (for example, Git‑based static hosting providers). These providers may create standard technical logs such as:
- IP address and approximate location.
- Browser type and version.
- Requested URLs and timestamps.
These logs are operated under the provider’s own privacy policies and are used for technical reasons such as stability, security, and abuse prevention.
4. Analytics
The site may use lightweight, privacy‑friendly analytics without tracking cookies. The goal is to understand how many people visit the landing page and the app, not to profile individuals.
- No cross‑site tracking and no advertising networks.
- Page views, referrers, and basic browser information may be counted.
- IP addresses may be shortened or anonymized by the analytics provider.
If analytics is enabled in the future, this section will be updated with the name and link of the provider.
5. Local storage and settings
To make the app more convenient, STL ExtrudeLab may store small pieces of data in your browser, such as:
- UI preferences (panel states, rendering options).
- Recently used parameters or tool settings.
This information is stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. You can clear it at any time by deleting your browser data for this site.
6. Third‑party links
The website may link to external services such as a community chat server, video hosting, or code hosting platforms. Those services have their own privacy policies and terms, which apply when you visit them.
7. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally when features change. The “last updated” date at the bottom of the page shows the current version. If you continue using STL ExtrudeLab after a change, you agree to the updated policy.
8. Contact
If you have questions about privacy or data handling in STL ExtrudeLab, please use the community contact options linked from the app and landing page.
